India decriminalises homosexual acts in landmark verdict

The law known as 'Section 377' held that intercourse between members of the same sex was against the order of nature. The five petitioners who challenged the law said it was discriminatory and led to gays living in fear of harassment and persecution.

John McCain, the veteran US senator and war hero, passed away on Saturday aged 81, just four days shy of his 82nd birthday, following a year-long battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Cindy and seven children, three of them from an earlier marriage.
